Privacy policy
This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Ritua Pty Ltd collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a User) of the ritua.com.au website (Site). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Ritua Pty Ltd. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Personal identification information
We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the site, place an order, fill out a form, respond to a survey, subscribe to the newsletter and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.
Non-personal identification information
We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilised and other similar information.
Cookies, pixels and tracking technologies
Our Site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies, including advertising pixels and server side event tracking, to enhance User experience, understand how the Site is used, and measure and improve our advertising. User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.
Advertising and analytics partners
We work with third party advertising and analytics providers who receive information about your activity on our Site. The providers we currently use are set out below.
Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram). We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API. These share information about your activity on our Site, such as pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, checkouts started and purchases made, with Meta Platforms, Inc.
This includes a feature known as advanced matching. Where you provide information to us such as your email address, phone number, name or address, that information is converted into a hashed form, meaning it is scrambled into a code that cannot be read or reversed, before it is sent to Meta. Meta uses this to match your activity on our Site to a Facebook or Instagram account. We use this to measure how our advertising performs and to show you relevant advertising.
We have selected the most complete data sharing setting available for this integration. This means we share the fullest set of customer activity and matching information that our ecommerce platform supports, and the specific technologies used to do so may be updated over time by our ecommerce platform as advertising technologies change.
You can control how Meta uses this information through the Off-Facebook Activity settings and the ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account. Meta's own privacy policy governs how they handle this information.
If we add further advertising or analytics providers, including Google, we will update this section before doing so.

It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, and other requests or questions. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.
How we protect your information
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site. Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.
How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it by law. In practice this means:
- Order and transaction records. Retained for at least five years after the transaction, as required of Australian businesses for taxation and financial record keeping purposes.
- Customer account information. Retained while your account remains open, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Marketing information. Retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you, and for a short period afterwards so that we can continue to honour your request.

- Customer service correspondence. Retained for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.
When we no longer need your personal information, and we are not required by law to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or to permanently remove the information that identifies you.
Sharing your personal information
We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others.
We share personal information with service providers who help us operate our business and the Site. These providers only receive the information they need to perform their function for us, and are required to protect it.
We may also share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.
We may otherwise disclose your personal information where required or authorised by law.
